  1. Nuclear liability passed with operator liability raised to Rs.1500 crore.
  2. Vedanta mining project in Orissa has been reported as it is violating the environmental and forest act according to a proposal by the panel appointed. It has been reported that this project is violating the Forest Conservation Act (FCA), Forest Right Act (FRA), Environmental Protection Act and Orissa Forest Act. 
  3. Draft of Mine and Mineral  (Development and regulation) bill has been prepared and the government is planing to give 26 percent share to local tribes.
  4. 300% salary hike for MP's has been cleared in cabinet.

  4. Russian Presidnet Dimitry Medvedev hosted the second quadripartite summit with leaders of Afghanistan, Pakistan and Tajikistan. Security. terrorism and economic co-operation were discussed.
  5. Columbian defence pact with US suspended, this pact has given US troops a greater access to Columbian bases.
