UPSC recently announced the recruitment of 253 Assistant Provident Fund Commissioner for Employee's Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO). Initially the last date was 3rd May,2012. Due to technical difficulties faced by candidates during registration, UPSC has officially extended the last date for filling the online application for Assistant Provident Fund Commissioner till 10.05.2012. However candidates are still facing some technical difficulties while filling the online form.

Common problems faced during online registration for EPFO Assistant Provident Fund Commissioner.

Choosing the desired password : During the initial stage of the registration (new registration), the desired password created was not accepted. One reason is that candidates might have not used any symbols (@,
$, # etc.,) in their desired password or the password is too short (less than 4 characters) or long (more than 10 characters). But in many cases the problem happened even after following the guidelines given to choose the password ( password between 4 to 10 characters with one symbol and one number).

Solution : I practically solved this problem by choosing a 10 character password comprising of at least one letter, one number and one symbol. (e.g: sachin123@). When I chose 10 characters exactly in this format for the desired password my registration got completed and a registration number was given to me.

EPFO Assistant Provident Commissioner Problems
The next common problem faced by many candidates during the online registration is in the qualification page. Even after submitting all details there is no option to proceed further. In the guidelines it is mentioned that application will not be proceeded further if the candidate does not satisfy the necessary qualification mentioned in the advertisement. So many might think/assume that they are not eligible, but from my small research I found out that is should be a technical error in the online application.
The essential qualification is a degree from a recognized university in any discipline. Diploma in Company law/ Public law / Public Administration is just desirable. So from the advertisement it is very clear that any candidate holding a degree can apply. To cross check I tried to fill the application by mentioning myself a Post graduate in Public Administration with 99 percentage marks. Even then there is no option to continue.

Solution: (updated) : I found the solution for the problem and applied too. You have to give both your HSC(12th) and Matriculation (10th) marks. Though the dropdown changes for Matriculation and HSC, board remains same for both. Click add after giving matriculation to give HSC marks. Now your application will show continue option to proceed further. Good luck.
